Sandpipers

Growing up at the beach, I always loved watching these cute little birds run toward the waves and then race away from them as the waves crashed on the shore. You can find different species of Sandpiper (Scolopacidae) found along various waterways and coastal areas. We saw these sweet little wave runners on the Texas Gulf Coast.
